Dear Trap Media, Just to let you know overall all 38 workshops
provided for the Girl Guide celebrations were excellent!
The facilitators were all very pleasant and several commented
that they had learned a lot about the Guide movement. I would
definitely recommend you to others.
Best wishes,
Eirlais Tomkins (Mrs), Girlguiding

Dear Trap Media. Thank you for sending such amiable and professional
workshop leaders (Origami and Indian Drumming) to us this
week! Could you pass my thanks on to them, I have had nothing
but positive reviews from all of the staff and students who
had the chance to be in the sessions.
Kind Regards
F. Melmoe – East Surrey College

Hi Trap Media, just to let you know, the young people enjoyed
the Bollywood Dance Workshop day and all staff that attended

Hi there,
The lady who ran the Bollywood dance workshop was very nice
and knowledgeable especially regarding the history of the
style. Letting pupils try on the outfits was a good
exciting opportunity for them.
Thanks once again for organising it as I realise it was
very short notice, so we are very grateful for your fast
response in getting in touch and making the necessary arrangements.
Many Thanks
L Meek - Lead teacher of Dance, John
Ferneley College, Leicestershire.

I am just writing to say how fantastic your Bollywood dancer
was last Wednesday. We were blown away by his performance
- our children were captivated. He danced for Malcolm
Primary School, Penge, on Wednesday and did Bollywood Dance
workshops for the rest of the day. I had very good
feedback about the workshops too. Thank you once again.
H. Hawthorne, Malcolm Primary School
Dear Trap Media
The Chinese Dance Workshop was a success yesterday; Gina was fantastic with the
3 classes she worked with during the dance workshop. Gina exposed the pupils
to this fascinating Chinese culture (the calendar and what year it is and the
dance styles) and got them involved in the dancing as well. The year 4 & Reception
teachers were full of praise about what she did with the pupils.
Thank you for this positive experience.
C Freese, Deputy Headteacher, Merrylands Primary School,
Essex.

Indian
Classical or Bollywood
Dance Workshop
Indian Dance Workshops are an exciting
alternative to the standard PE lesson; consisting of plenty of
exercise and physical activity, but adding dance elements of
rhythm, co-ordination, musicality and performance, as well as
learning about another culture. Participants will be introduced
to basic principals of Indian dance, including hand gestures,
moves for the head, neck and eyes, and Indian foot rhythms.

Bollywood Dance Workshop @ Uxbridge College
Traditional classical
Indian dance workshops, this would include flexed feet, gestures
for the hands and fingers, and movements for the head, eyes,
and neck, accompanied by traditional Indian music.
For Bollywood dance workshops,
this would include fast and funky moves for the hips and shoulders,
combined with some cheesy humour and Indian–style moves for the
fingers, all accompanied by catchy Bollywood music.
A typical South Asian Indian
Dance Workshop consists of; The workshop starts with an energetic
and fun warm up based on aerobic exercises, isolations, stretching
and balances, designed to stretch participants and develop their
co-ordination.
This is followed by an introduction to the basic
movement vocabulary of Indian dance focusing on the specific
variances and characteristics of traditional classical Indian
dance or the high energy spectacular of Bollywood!
Participants then build the movements they have learnt into
a choreographed routine working on their own or in small groups.
The workshop ends with a high energy live dance performance
by participants to put into practice the techniques they have
learned during the workshops. The group being split into two
so each group can give a mini – performance, while the other
acts as the audience. We find that many individuals gain a
sense of great satisfaction and achievement from this performance.

Indian Dhol & Tabla (Indian
Hand-Drums) Music Workshops
When it comes to percussion in
the world of Indian music, the Indian tabla drums are the
most popular. Their distinctive sound has made them a favoured
addition to nearly every kind of music in the world today.
Tabla drums feature prominently in Bollywood soundtracks and
asian movies.

Indian Tabla Workshop @ Northfleet Girls School
During a indian Tabla workshop participants will discover
how many different sounds can be created from the tabla using
combinations of the various finger and hand techniques. Then
have a go for themselves..
The dhol is a two-sided drum often used as an accompaniment for
Punjabi folk music. It has its roots in the province of Punjab
and dhol players are often sought for occasions of celebration,
such as weddings.

The Dhol drum became fundamental to Bhangra music and in the
early 60's people would bring their instruments with them from
India to the UK. Now the Dhol is a must at all Asian celebrations,
whatever the occasion. As with all instruments, the Dhol can
be played in a range of styles, but the most common is traditional
Bhangra.
Henna Workshops
Henna is an all natural, safe, temporary and painless and
unique way to decorate your personality, spirit and body with
henna art symbols. In India, Henna has been used for thousands
of years to adorn the hands and feet of women for weddings
and other auspicious times. The fascinating art of Henna has
spread through cultures throughout India to Africa to the Middle
East, where it has been used for various purposes from fashion
and beauty, to personal expression, social and religious occasions
and for healing purposes.

Learn background of the history of Henna and its importance
in the Indian culture. Learn about the ways Henna is used in
the Indian culture and the meanings of its designs. Watch a
demonstration by the teacher. Students create and apply their
own Henna designs.
Indian Storytelling Workshops
Experience the rich history and myths of the South Asian continent
with our interactive Indian Storytelling Workshops.
There may be no fires to sit around in our urban settings,
but story telling lives on! Stories were told to make children
aware of the world and to encourage good values in their lives.

Our Indian Storytelling workshop is an age old tradition,
and serves as oral vehicle for imparting values and cultural
ethics to the younger generation while providing entertainment
and recreation. Historically, Indian Storytelling was essentially
a communal participatory experience and therefore ideally for
school environments. Stories are told by our authentic South
Asian storytellers with the emphasis on full interaction through
song, music, or dance.
